1. Introduction
These terms of use (Terms) govern your access to and use of the Wiseman Accountants website (the Site) and any information, resources or services made available through it. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
2. About us
The Site is operated by Wiseman Accountants Pty Ltd (ABN 14 601 654 442) (Wiseman Accountants, we, us or our), an Ipswich based accounting and advisory firm serving established family businesses across South East Queensland. We are a registered tax agent.
3. Use of this website
You may use the Site for lawful purposes only. You agree not to use the Site in any way that breaches any applicable law, interferes with or disrupts the Site or its servers, or attempts to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Site, its systems or networks.
4. Information on this site is general only
Any information, indicative guidance or general commentary provided through the Site, or in response to an enquiry made through the Site, is general in nature only. It does not take account of your particular circumstances, does not constitute financial, tax, legal or other professional advice, and does not constitute a binding offer of engagement.
Wiseman Accountants does not hold an Australian Financial Services Licence and does not provide financial product advice. Nothing on the Site is a recommendation about any financial product, including any superannuation product, insurance product or investment. Where you need advice of that kind we will refer you to an appropriately licensed adviser.
All services are provided subject to a separate signed engagement letter and our terms of engagement. Scope, fees and timing are confirmed in writing before any work commences. No client relationship arises from your use of the Site or from an enquiry made through it.
5. Accuracy and availability
We take reasonable care in preparing the content on the Site, but tax and accounting rules change frequently and content may become out of date. We do not warrant that the content is accurate, complete or current at the time you read it, and you should not act on it without obtaining advice specific to your circumstances. We do not warrant that the Site will be available uninterrupted or free of errors, and we may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it without notice.
6. Intellectual property
All content on the Site, including text, graphics, logos, images, layout and design, is owned by or licensed to Wiseman Accountants and is protected by Australian and international intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify or otherwise use any content without our prior written permission. Third party marks appearing on the Site, including the marks of professional bodies and software providers, remain the property of their respective owners and are used under the terms permitted by those owners.
7. Third party links
The Site may contain links to third party websites for your convenience. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, products or practices of any linked website. Accessing third party sites is at your own risk, and a link does not imply any endorsement or association.
8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Site and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, express or implied, and are not liable for any loss or damage, however arising, from your use of, or reliance on, the Site or its content.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you may have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified. Where our liability can be limited but not excluded, our liability is limited to resupplying the relevant service or paying the cost of having it resupplied.

9. Privacy
We handle personal information collected through the Site in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we hold it, when it may be disclosed overseas, and how you can access it, correct it or make a complaint. Our Privacy Policy is available on this website.
As a registered tax agent we also owe separate confidentiality obligations to our clients under the Tax Agent Services Act 2009, the Code of Professional Conduct and the APES 110 Code of Ethics. Those obligations are addressed in our terms of engagement.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland and of the Commonwealth of Australia.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes take effect when published on this page. Your continued use of the Site after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
